The cover of "Ride For Life: The Three Golden Principles For Riders" is the colour of heaven in the morning. I'm not sure if It makes me think of heaven because of the winged horse motif, even though horses are not traditionally thought of as the angels they can be; or because of the clarity of the blue; or because of the higher purpose running through it. Whatever the reason, "Ride For Life: The Three Golden Principles For Riders", by Catherine Louise Birmingham, is a slim but powerful book full of profound wisdom and and an over-arching philosophy and spirituality that apply as much to life itself as to riding. Beautifully written and presented in hard cover format, with the thoughtful inclusion of a ribbon bookmark for your favourite insight, it is a book that can be read from end to end or dipped into for random inspiration. I recommend doing both, and often. Reviewed by Joanne Verikios, author of "Winning Horsemanship: A Judge's Secrets And Tips For Your Success" |
From a very early age I have been able to tune in to what horses and ponies were thinking and what they were likely to do next.
