I have always been curious where do old horses go. I have seen a lot of other animals in their senior years but I never see cows or horses. I sometimes fear they are being ground up in some hidden farm and made as extenders to corned beef. Maybe someone is also getting leather. It's not really a nice way to die. I wish they kill them first and not bludgeon their head. I wish they just let them graze the land and die a natural death. I almost cried while saying this.

I have loved horses all my life. Sharing my understanding of their ways and needs with other horse lovers is my way of giving back for every neigh, whinny, nuzzle and exhilarating ride. I write for people like me - mad about horses, passionate about becoming better owners/riders/trainers/breeders and keen to learn as much as they possibly can. I was inspired to put fingers to keyboard while travelling around Australia on a horse judging tour some years ago. I could empathise with those competitors whose performance fell short of their hopes or expectations. Their struggles and near-misses made me realise (a) that there was a knowledge and experience gap; and (b) that I had a contribution to make by writing down some of the secrets and tips I had learned the hard way!
