How to train a horse in twelve words

I love these words of profound, simple wisdom from Jack McBurnie, horseman. Every horseman and horsewoman should have them engraved on their heart.

I have seen a great old photo of Jack relaxing in a deck chair in the middle of a yard, with a young horse free lunging around him, so he obviously practised what he preached!

When you think about it, the same principles can apply to everything we aspire to do with our horses, and maybe in our lives.

"Don't scare them and don't rush them. Let them work it out."

Obviously, I love this quote. I can relate so much on this especially as an employee. I am so lucky because my boss does not force me to do things that I don't like. He trusts me that I can do what's tasked to me, and have been guiding me all throughout. If you got a boss who happened to be same as mine, you should stay with them. You are probably staying under a healthy environment.

Hello, Write My Paper. I am so glad that you love the quote and delighted that you can also relate it to the human work environment. You are 100% correct! Sometimes we have a boss who trusts, guides and corrects; rather than suspects, forces and punishes. Such people are wonderful to work with. Thanks very much for your thoughtful comment.

Joanne Verikios Winning Horsemanship Quotes and Memes
Hi! I'm Joanne Verikios. In my view, horses are the most beautiful animals ever created.

If you are reading this, you probably feel the same way!

I have loved horses all my life (and maybe in previous lives too!).

From a very early age I have been able to tune in to what they were thinking and what they were likely to do next.

Sharing my understanding of their ways and needs with other horse lovers is my way of giving back for every neigh, whinny, nuzzle and ride.

I create, write and share for people like me - mad about horses, passionate about becoming better owners/riders/trainers/breeders and keen to learn as much as they possibly can.

My inner artist gets a lot of fun from designing the © images to go with the words.
